Ole Gunnar Solskjaer will be breathing a little easier this week after Manchester United left north London with a 3-0 victory at Tottenham Hotspur on Saturday.
Solskjaer had come under fire due to lrecent lackluster results, especially last week's five-goal loss to Liverpool, but United met the perfect opponent as Spurs had no ideas throughout Saturday's match.
Tottenham did start the brighter of the two sides, but it quickly became apparent that United would come out on top. Cristiano Ronaldo struck first, hitting a perfect volley from a tight angle to beat Spurs goalkeeper Hugo Lloris just a few minutes ahead of halftime.
Ronaldo then turned provider in the 64th minute, combining with teammate and countryman Bruno Fernandes to turn the Spurs defence inside out before sending a through-ball into the path of a charging Edinson Cavani for the finish. Marcus Rashford then put the icing on the cake four minutes from time as United cruised to the much-needed victory.
