A new era is underway at Liverpool with Arne Slot preparing for his first season as manager.
He has huge shoes to fill following the departure of fan favourite Jurgen Klopp who transformed a club which found itself struggling in the English top flight.
One concern amongst Liverpool fans is whether some of their star names will stay at the club now that Klopp has left, and centre back Virgil van Dijk is one of those whose future at Anfield has been frequently discussed.
However, while there are doubts as to whether Van Dijk will stay at Liverpool this summer, transfer expert Gianluca Di Marzio is confident the Dutch defender will stay in England and play a vital role in this period of transition.
"I don't think van Dijk will leave this summer," Di Marzio told wettbasis.com.
"At this moment of change after the Jurgen Klopp era, I think Virgil can be so important to transmit the ideas of Liverpool to the new coach so I don't think they will let him go this summer.
"At the end of this season we'll see if he will go or not."
Slot's first Premier League game in charge of Liverpool is on August 17 when they travel to Portman Road to face the newly promoted Ipswich Town.
