Euro 2024 in Germany does not get underway until next Summer, but already plans are being put in place for the 2028 edition of the tournament. 

After hosting some of the re-arranged European Championship games including the semi-finals and final at Wembley in 2021, the football associations of England, Scotland, Wales, Ireland and Northern Ireland have submitted their bid to stage the tournament across the UK in 2028.

When will Euro 2028 take place?

The dates for Euro 2028 have not been confirmed at the time of writing, but expect it to be in the June and July of 2028. 

Which stadiums have been chosen for the UK and Ireland Euro 2028 bid? 

With this bid showcasing plans for Euro 2028 to be staged across five countries, 10 host cities have been chosen which are home to some of world football's best stadia, they are as follows. 

England

  • London - Wembley Stadium 
  • London- Tottenham Hotspur Stadium
  • Manchester - City of Manchester Stadium (Etihad Stadium)
  • Liverpool - Everton Stadium at Bramley-Moore Dock
  • Newcastle - St James' Park
  • Birmingham - Villa Park

Scotland

  • Glasgow - Hampden Park

Wales

  • Cardiff - National Stadium of Wales (Prinicipality Stadium)

Ireland

  • Dublin - Dublin Arena (Aviva Stadium)

Northern Ireland

  • Belfast - Casement Park

Which other contries are bidding to stage Euro 2028? 

Turkey are the only other nation to have submitted a bid to host Euro 2028. 

When will the Euro 2028 bid result be announced? 

The winner of the bidding process for Euro 2028 will be announced in September 2023.
