Emile Smith Rowe has scored in consecutive Premier League matches for Arsenal, but his goal in Wednesday's game at Chelsea will likely go down as the strangest of his career.
With the Gunners applying pressure in Chelsea's end, Blues midfielder Jorginho turned and blindly fired toward his own net assuming goalkeeper Kepa Arrizabalaga would be present to serve as an outlet. The problem was that Kepa was well off his line, and he had to rush back to ensure that Jorginho's pass attempt didn't become an own goal.
The 'keeper was able to get a hand in the ball just before it crossed the line, but he scooped it directly to Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, who passed it to Arsenal teammate Smith Rowe for an easy finish.
It ended up being the only goal of the match, despite Chelsea's best efforts.
