The group stage at Euro 2024 is complete, and the surviving teams know their matchups for the Round of 16.

England face Slovakia in a last-16 match on Sunday and could potentially meet defending champions Italy in the quarterfinals, with the likes of the Netherlands, Austria and Turkey on their side of the draw.

Heavy hitters France, Spain, Portugal, Belgium and hosts Germany are all on the other side of the bracket, which could lead to some big matches as the knockouts progress, and former England international Wayne Bridge believes all those sides have a good shot at making it to the final.

However, Bridge favours one nation above the rest from the non-England side of the draw, and he believes the Three Lions will have a chance of getting to the final only if changes are made by the manager.

Speaking to Betfred, Bridge attempted to predict how the knockout stage would unfold.

“It’s really hard to answer," he said. "Spain and Germany have played really well, but you’ve still got the likes of France, Portugal, England, Italy and Holland, so it’s really hard. You definitely can’t rule Austria out either as a dark horse.

"I would have to say France to reach the final, but then you look at our side of the draw, there’s ourselves and Italy.

"You just can’t write any teams off and if you go off how England have played so far, you wouldn’t say that they’re going to get there but there is enough quality if Gareth Southgate decides to change the way we’re playing and the personnel.

"If that happens, then we have a great chance because we have a great squad.”
