Former Manchester United striker Wayne Rooney recounted a remarkable encounter with Donald Trump and Rudy Giuliani.
Former president Trump and his advisor Giuliani managed to play golf with the former England man - and new Plymouth Argyle manager - though it is not clear when.
Presumably the moment occurred when Rooney was either playing for or managing DC United in recent years, before he managed Birmingham City in the Championship over the last year.
Speaking to Sky Bet, Rooney revealed that such were the security concerns, there were countless snipers around them while they played.
He said: “[The most famous person I’ve played golf with is] Donald Trump. The maddest thing about it was we had [Rudy] Guiliani in the buggy behind us, then there were about 50-100 golf buggies that were all security.
“There was a boat in the lake with snipers, there were snipers in the bushes, and I was like ‘what’s going on here?!’”
