Arsenal survived a nervy second half to emerge with a 4-2 victory over Leicester City on Saturday, as the hosts rescued victory with two late goals in second-half stoppage time.

The Gunners appeared to be cruising with first-half goals from Gabriel Martinelli and Leandro Trossard but the Foxes fought back after the break with a James Justin double.

A barnstorming finish saw Arsenal rail against their steadfast visitors, but they only cracked when Trossard forced a Wilfred Ndidi own goal before Kai Havertz's late tap-in.

With 36 shots to five from their opponents at the Emirates Stadium, and 75 percent of possession throughout, Martinelli felt the hosts earned a fair result.

"I'm really happy with the performance, I think we deserved the win," he said post-match. "We played really well, we suffered a bit.

"We didn't deserve to suffer that much but we won the game and this is the most important thing."

As for getting on the scoresheet, the first-half goal was a long time coming for the Brazilian, who had not found the back of the net in an Arsenal shirt since March.

"It's always nice to score goals and even more for us that plays up front so really happy with the goal and the assist [on Trossard's goal] as well," he said.
