Wes Brown says current England international needs to go to a bigger clubDAZN

Jordan Pickford needs to leave Everton, according to Wes Brown.

The former Manchester United defender believes Pickford could improve "massively" by leaving his current club for a bigger side. Pickford joined the Toffees from Sunderland in 2017 and has since established himself as the starting goalkeeper for both Everton and the England national team.

Despite Pickford's best efforts, the Toffees are near the bottom of the league due to a combination of poor performances and a points deduction for breaching profitability and sustainability rules.

With the club struggling, Brown thinks now is the time for Pickford to move on.

"Pickford was my teammate at Sunderland, he's a great lad and a good player," Brown told In The Zone. "I just want him to go to a bigger club - sorry Everton fans.

"He needs to be in the Champions League or playing in Europe to get that experience. He'll start for England. I think it's time, if there's a chance, for him to go to a bigger club to get that experience of being at the top level yearly.

"Everton was a great move for him from Sunderland and it's terrible what's happening at the club now with all the points deductions. I feel like he needs to play in a bigger team every week, I think it will help his game massively."
