Lionel Messi's first match as a member of Inter Miami could come tonight in the Leagues Cup.
The midseason tournament kicks off with the MLS club taking on LigaMX side Cruz Azul at Miami's DRV PNK Stadium, which is sold out for the possibility of Messi's debut in the pink and black colours of the team co-owned by David Beckham.
Messi was unveiled by the club on Sunday and he had his first official training session on Tuesday, so fans should not expect the 36-year-old World Cup winner to play the full 90 minutes in tonight's match. But Miami coach Tata Martino says he plans on giving Messi some time on the field, along with fellow new signee Sergio Busquets.
