Only one Premier League side has scored more goals than Arsenal so far this season and the Gunners have the best goal differential of the 20 teams.

Yet the North London club have been linked to a number of high-profile strikers for a potential move to the Emirates Stadium, as manager Mikel Arteta continues to try to improve his squad.

Napoli's Victor Osimhen and Brentford attacker Ivan Toney are among the names that have reportedly caught Arsenal's attention, but a former Gunner believes that a different player should be on the top of Arteta's wish list this summer.

Speaking to Lord Ping, William Gallas explained why the Gunners should still be looking to add to their attacking corps and which name stands out above the rest in his eyes.

"I think Arsenal needs one striker who is different than Gabriel Jesus," Gallas said. "One striker who is physically better can help the team play a different style of football.

"Osimhen, Toney or [Bournemouth's Dominic] Solanke? It’s a good question! It’s not just about the quality of the players but it’s if the player can have a good relationship with the manager. If you have a strong character and a strong personality, that might not suit what the manager wants.

"I’m not sure about Victor Osimhen. He has a strong character but I’m not sure if he’ll have a good relationship with Arteta. If I was Arteta, I would sign for Dominic Solanke, who is also a cheaper option than Osimhen and Toney."
