Pep Guardiola has Manchester City "firing early" in the Premier League this season, according to former Chelsea and France star William Gallas.
The champions are unbeaten across their first four games, and lead the table in imperious fashion, helped by Erling Haaland's nine-goal haul.
With the UEFA Champions League starting this week, City will find themselves stretched across another front soon enough.
But Gallas believes they have come out of the blocks faster than usual thanks to their manager, adding that they appear keen to put their rivals behind them quickly.
"Pep Guardiola has got his team firing early," Gallas told Prime Casino . "I don’t know what he has said to his players, I would love to know, but every single one of them looks on it.
"Whatever he has said to them has had the desired effect. People need to understand how difficult it is to win one title, then it’s even harder to win the second.
"With every title you win, it gets harder to keep doing it. Four in a row, that’s an insane achievement for many, many reasons.
"Normally, when you’re a player that has won the Premier League, a champion, you ease your way into the first games because you know that the season is long.
"These guys have done the opposite. It looks like City don’t want a tight title race this season."
