Former Chelsea, Arsenal and Tottenham defender William Gallas believes that Ange Postecoglou’s men will pip Aston Villa to the top four at the end of the season.
Tottenham lost last weekend at home to Wolves, while Aston Villa beat Fulham and now sit two points above the Londoners.
Gallas told Gambling Zone that given the struggles of late for Tottenham, coupled with Heung-min Son’s potential fatigue after coming back from the Asia Cup, he is concerned they will struggle in the near-term.
He said: “The problem is that when you drop points against Wolves at home, and you know that Son isn’t at his best after coming back from the Asia Cup, then you have to be concerned about Tottenham’s ability to finish in the top four.
“I’m a little bit worried about the next few games for Tottenham.”
Despite that, he still predicted they will clinch a Champions League spot, adding: “I’m a little bit worried about them dropping points, but I have to back them. I think they will finish fourth in front of Aston Villa.”
