Bianca Andreescu is one win away from her first WTA title of 2022.
The Canadian advanced to the final of the Bad Homburg Open thanks to a walkover in the semi-final against Simona Halep, but Andreescu's play this week pointed toward the 22-year-old moving on either way.
Regardless, Andreescu now steps into her first final of the year as the former world No. 4 looks to regain the consistency that made her a feared opponent on the circuit.
Standing in the way of the Mississauga, Ont., native is Caroline Garcia, herself a surprise entrant in Saturday's final after she defeated countrywoman Alizé Cornet in three sets on Friday.
Ranked 75th in the world, Garcia's aiming for her first title since a 2019 win at Nottingham. She'll face Andreescu for the first time as both players look to win some silverware ahead of Wimbledon, which starts next week.
