Bianca Andreescu has saved the best for last.
After battling her way through all challengers at the Miami Open, the 20-year-old Canadian star now faces her toughest test since returning to the court following her 2020 hiatus. Andreescu takes on World No. 1 Ashleigh Barty in Saturday's final, and it's fittingly the first time the women will meet in competitive action.
Barty has held on to the No. 1 rank since September 2019, with the 24-year-old Australian stubbornly holding onto the top spot despite a slew of new stars (including Andreescu) emerging over the past few years.
Given that these women have yet to square off, it could be said that Andreescu's never-give-up style poses a challenge that Barty has never faced, either.
Whatever happens, it's likely that Saturday's match is just the first of many meetings between the two women.
