The end is almost near for tennis legend Rafael Nadal, who has announced his retirement from the sport at the end of the 2024 season.
However, the winner of 92 singles titles (of which 22 are Grand Slam events) isn't done just yet. The 38-year-old will continue playing through the end of the year.
When is Rafael Nadal's last tennis match?
Nadal will play his last tennis match at the Davis Cup Finals, which will be held November 19-24 in Malaga.
He is part of a Spain team that also features Carlos Alcaraz, Roberto Bautista Agut, Pablo Cerreno Busta, and Marcel Granollers. Spain will face Netherlands in the quarter-finals on November 19.
Before Nadal represents his country for the final time, he took part in the Six Kings Slam tournament between Thursday October 17 and Saturday October 19, finishing fourth.
What is the Six Kings Slam Tournament?
The Six Kings Slam is an exhibition tennis tournament held across three days and featuring six big-name players, in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia and broadcast live and for free on DAZN.
As it's a non-ATP-sanctioned event, players will not earn any ranking points. Each of the six participants is guaranteed a minimum prize of $1,500,000 USD, with the winner will taking home the largest prize in tennis history, $6,000,000 USD - almost double the prize money for a Grand Slam champion
In the 2024 edition Jannik Sinner rallied for a three-set comeback to defeat Carlos Alcaraz, 6-7(5), 6-3, 6-3 in the final to take home a $6 million purse.
