Blood and Guts is less than two weeks away but both teams require one more man following the news that Eddie Kingston and Bryan Danielson are both unavailable.
The Elite and Blackpool Combat Club are both well connected in the wrestling world but who will each faction recruit for the July 19 spectacle in Boston?
Here, DAZN looks at a number of possibilities who could feature at Blood and Guts.
CM Punk
A real-life rival of The Elite following the events of All Out last year, CM Punk has a ton of animosity with Kenny Omega and his friends, and he’d be the ideal recruitment for Blackpool Combat Club.
It’s inevitable that the Chicago native will one day renew hostilities with The Elite inside the ring, but will that moment arrive at Blood and Guts?
Chris Jericho
A recent Dynamite saw ‘The Ocho’ receive an offer from Don Callis to join his family and if Jericho goes in that direction, then that places him against The Elite.
A pairing with his long-time friend has a ton of potential and if Jericho accepts the proposal, he’s currently thinking about when the Blood and Guts veteran could make another appearance inside the cage.
On the flipside, if Jericho is insulted by Callis’ proposition then what better way of shoving it down his throat then siding with The Elite and going against his fellow Canadian.
Will Ospreay
Omega’s recent conqueror has a superb working relationship with AEW and given his rivalry with ‘The Cleaner’ this year, who better to select than the NJPW star?
A match of this standing is right up Ospreay’s street and the chance to pull ahead in his feud with Omega would go a long way in satisfying Ospreay's ego.
Kota Ibushi
If Omega had his way, then Kota Ibushi would be the fifth man joining The Elite on July 19.
Omega and Ibushi go back years thanks to their Golden Lovers connection, and he’s often been the man that Omega can rely on?
Some expected Ibushi to make an appearance at Forbidden Door last month but will it be Blood and Guts where the Japanese star shows up?
Kazuchika Okada
Despite falling to the leader of the Blackpool Combat Club at Forbidden Door, Kazuchika Okada can send a message to the injured Bryan Danielson by taking out the rest of his faction.
The Japanese sensation is no stranger to the big stage and uniting with former rival, Omega, he has the perfect platform to remind Danielson that their feud is far from over.
