British WWE star shares his excitement on the possibility of WrestleMania in the UK.
The WWE UK tour has been in full flow across October and November, with live shows up and down the country packed with fans desperate to get a slice of the action.

The shows have once again brought up the question of WWE one day hosting WrestleMania in the UK, a possibility that has seemed more possible ever since John Cena dropped the idea during a surprise appearance in the UK during last year's Money in the Bank at the O2.

WWE have never taken their biggest show outside of North America, but with the company sharing an increasing number of shows with a global audience, there could be hope for a WrestleMania in the future.

One man who would be very much like to see it happen is RAW co-commentator and former Intercontinental champion Wade Barrett.

Talking exclusively to DAZN, via AceOdds, the British superstar admits he wants to see it but outlined how difficult it is to secure the show of shows.

He said: "Yeah, I would love for it to happen. The problem with WrestleMania is the same as the problem with the Super Bowl or the problem with the World Cup final. It's not just gifted. Hey, that's a great city. Let's go there. No, there's a whole bidding process that's involved and governments get involved and funding and taxpayer money and all this stuff.

"Those negotiations absolutely happen, but they happen at a level way above anything I can talk about. I'm not involved in them. I don't know where they're at with any of that stuff and I don't want to say something that's going to be misconstrued here.

"Of course, I would love to go to London for WrestleMania. But I'll tell you right now, Paris wants WrestleMania. Berlin probably wants WrestleMania. Every major city in the US and Canada wants WrestleMania. Tokyo wants WrestleMania. This is what you're competing with."

Wade Barrett

Fuel had been added to the reality that WWE could choose London as a destination by Triple H meeting with Sadiq Khan over the summer, but Barrett says it will be about London offering a package offer and remained tight-lipped on what the talks with London's mayor may have been about.

Adding: "You've got to put together as a city a really attractive offer, and you've got to beat out everybody else, and it has to make financial sense for the governments involved. Obviously, WWE has to answer to their shareholders so as much as I would love to say, yeah, we need to take WrestleMania over there, I couldn't honestly tell you where any of those kinds of negotiations were at.

"I know Triple H and Nick Khan from WWE met with Sadiq Khan in London a couple of months ago, and I believe those talks were very positive. Whether it was about WrestleMania, I don't know. Or whether it was about just business for WWE in the UK in general. As great as it will be, I can't add any more than that."WWE
