Cody Rhodes is at the top of his game, and as a second-generation wrestler with several family members in the business he's seen it all.
"The American Nightmare" has had extensive experience across many promotions and organizations, most notably WWE, AEW and Impact Wrestling. A couple of weeks removed from defeating Brock Lesnar at SummerSlam, Rhodes' next move is yet to be determined.
However, Rhodes never stops working, and on Monday he held a Reddit "AMA" (Ask Me Anything) to help promote a documentary about his career. Among the questions from fans were his favourite scary movie ("The Conjuring"), favourite ride at Walt Disney World (Runaway Railroad) and many video game inquiries, but one of the more intriguing questions came from a "fantasy booking" perspective.
Rhodes was asked by a Reddit user to create his own WarGames team, choosing four wrestlers from any era to join his team in the two-ring, five-on-five steel cage match. It's a popular format that WWE only brings out once a year, most recently at Survivor Series 2022.
In his answer, Rhodes gave a two-part response — with the first part containing huge names past and present.
"Classic: Sting, Shawn, Dusty, Rey, Cody," Rhodes wrote, referring to WWE Hall of Famers Sting, Shawn Michaels, "The American Dream" Dusty Rhodes (his father), Rey Mysterio and himself.
The second part of the answer was less serious, with Rhodes nominating "[four] Kevin Owens" to team up with him in a modern WarGames match.
We're not sure how that would work, but it would be entertaining!
