Could AEW be the next destination for a couple of big names?

Matt Riddle is now a free agent but that hasn't stopped the former WWE superstar from issuing challenges to the industry's biggest names.

Riddle was released by WWE last year and with some in the wrestling industry expecting him to join AEW, Riddle will instead make his next appearance in NJPW.

At the recent New Year’s Dash, Riddle appeared on a pre-taped vignette, and he issued a challenge to one of the biggest names in Japan, Hiroshi Tanahashi.

That match will go down at New Beginnings next month but that hasn't prevented the former WWE United States champion from looking further ahead, and that includes a match against Bill Goldberg.

"You know, I don't want to give too much [away], but I personally would love to work with William Goldberg. It would be a great match," said Riddle when speaking on Signed by Superstars

"I think I could get something out of him that people haven't seen in years, and I think it'll be great for business. I know it'll be really good for me, but at the end of the day, if he wants to do it, he'll do it. If he needs to do it, he'll do it."

"There's a couple of places we could do that. I would imagine, maybe at AEW, maybe at TNA, Maybe at New Japan. If it's going to happen, it'll probably be in AEW.”
