AEW's UK debut is set to take place next week.

Excitement is building amongst wrestling fans in the UK as AEW's UK debut edges ever closer.

Taking place on Sunday, August 27, AEW's All In will be the first time the wrestling promotion has staged a show in the UK and it's safe to say that they have made a statement.

It would be expected that a wrestling promotion which is not WWE will look to sell out an arena before moving to bigger venues, but AEW strays away from the script and has instead decided to stage All In at Wembley Stadium which can hold up to 90,000 fans, but with seating available on the pitch, this number will increase.

While WWE have staged numerous marquee events in the UK, including Clash at the Castle last year at Cardiff's Principality Stadium, AEW are looking to lay down a marker with a show at England's national stadium.

With just a few tickets remaining, it's set to be a significant moment in AEW's history and former WWE announcer Todd Grisham could not help praise the enthusiasm from English wrestling fans.

"English people love wrestling, we know that," Grisham told DAZN

"Traditionally they loved WWE, no one can get the kind of numbers that WWE gets, but somehow AEW is doing it, so whatever they are doing, whatever it is, it’s connecting with fans.

"It’s hard to sell out a stadium no matter what the sporting event is, unless it’s English football, but a wrestling show at Wembley, even WWE would struggle to sell that out."
