Cody Rhodes had just dropped Finn Balor with a Cross Rhodes for the pin, when he and Jey Uso took their newly-won Undisputed WWE Tag Team Championship belts and did an impromptu cheers, clinking them together in celebration.
During the WWE Fastlane 2023 post-event press conference later on Saturday night, Rhodes explained how the jubilation of the moment extended well past simply winning some more hardware for he and Uso.
"For us to be able to convene, the first thing we did — we had a little cheers with these championship belts in the ring — and the cheers was to our families," Rhodes told members of the press as a nod to his legendary Rhodes family and Uso's iconic Anoa'i family of wrestlers. "This is what we do."
Added Uso: "For real."
Rhodes tacked on: "There's people who are getting fossil fuels, there's people who are building rockets to the moon, what our families do is entertainment. And it's a high service. To be able to deliver at that level with him tonight, I was lucky to be in there."
Rhodes and Uso not only overcame the Judgment Day's Balor and Damian Priest, but also interference from Rhea Ripley, Dominik Mysterio and JD McDonagh to exit with the Undisputed Tag straps.
