MJF is on a trajectory few other pro wrestlers have taken.
DAZN looks at the career accomplishments of the AEW star.
Who is MJF?
It's hard to blur the line between real and "kayfabe" in professional wrestling these days, but MJF is among the best in the business in this regard.
Born just outside New York City in 1996, Maxwell Friedman got his start in the industry at an early age. Cutting his teeth in local circuits, MJF worked his way through several different names and gimmicks before settling on a persona that has become familiar to fans around the world. While working for Combat Zone Wrestling in the mid-2010s, MJF was known as Pete Lightning and Maxwell Jacob Feinstein as he honed his ring style and mic work.
A move to Major League Wrestling (MLW) in 2017 saw MJF's star continue to rise, as his charismatic promos and in-ring work led to multiple titles within that promotion.
From MLW, MJF moved on to All Elite Wrestling (AEW) in 2019, where he quickly gained traction as one of the company's biggest heels. His ability to go-toe-to-toe on the mic with the likes of Chris Jericho and CM Punk helps keep MJF near the top of the card, while his critically acclaimed matches have given substance to MJF's unarguable style.
At 26, MJF became the youngest AEW World Champion in the promotion's history on Nov. 19, 2022. Given that wrestlers are often at the top of their game well into their 40s, MJF can look forward to a long career as one of the sport's biggest stars.
