Mercedes Mone has lived up to her name by hitting back at reports on her salary in AEW.
The former WWE champion made his much-anticipated AEW debut in Boston last week to become one of the biggest names in the company's women's division.
Following her arrival, there was much speculation as to how much owner Tony Khan has splashed out to secure Mone's services, with one report suggesting she is now the highest-paid woman in professional wrestling.
Mone has since commented on the reports in an interview with ESPN and given her response to the rumours about her bank balance.
“I mean, I’m not Mercedes Moné for no reason,” she said cheekly.
“Money changes everything. I’m always about that bag. Absolutely.”
The 32-year-old also outlined one of the big reasons she moved to AEW, citing the creative freedom she now has.
Adding: “You can do so much more in AEW — you can do everything. And for me, I want to do everything. So, this is the place for me to be, and this is the place that I call home.”
