There is a new Impact world champion after Alex Shelley produced a major upset by beating Steve Maclin at Against All Odds.
During the match, Shelley targeted Maclin's vulnerable left arm and softened his opponent up with a series of kicks.
Shelley continued to dominate with his submission skills, but Maclin thought he had turned the tide after exposing a turnbuckle.
This move however worked against him with Shelley sending Maclin face-first into the exposed steel before connecting with the Shell Shock to secure the victory.
After the match, newly crowned champion Shelley and his longtime tag team partner, Chris Sabin, celebrated together in the ring. Sabin had become the new X-Division world champion during the same event.
