Mike Tyson will appear on Friday's edition of AEW: Rampage.

The boxing legend's return comes as AEW airs its weekly broadcast from the Jim Whelan Boardwalk Hall in Atlantic City, NJ. The venue is a familiar one for Tyson, who defeated Tyrell Biggs, Larry Holmes, Michael Spinks, Carl Williams, and Alex Stewart there.

“It’s always good to return to Atlantic City,” Tyson said in a press release. “I grew up as a wrestling fan, so to be a special guest commentator for AEW this Friday is an honor. You never know what to expect when I’m a special guest so tune in.”

The 56-year-old is no stranger to AEW or the squared circle.

What will Mike Tyson do at AEW: Rampage?

As noted in Tyson's statement, the former undisputed world heavyweight boxing champion will be performing commentating duties at AEW: Rampage. It will be Tyson's fifth appearance for the wrestling promotion, having first appeared on AEW television in 2020.

When Tyson's around, that usually means Chris Jericho's involved. The duo have a longstanding relationship in AEW, both as a friend and foe. In May 2020, Tyson clashed with Jericho in a confrontation involving the Inner Circle and MMA stars Vitor Belfort, Henry Cejudo, and Rashad Evans.

A year later, Tyson intervened on behalf of Jericho and the Inner Circle against MJF and The Pinnacle. During a Jericho vs. Dax Harwood match, Tyson was also the special guest enforcer.

With Jericho having successfully defended his ROH World Championship against Colt Cabana on Wednesday at AEW Dynamite, could another chapter of the Jericho-Tyson story be written Friday?
