WWE reportedly warned stars on PG stance.

At the height of WWE's 'Attitude era', profanity was part and parcel of the promotion's weekly programming; however, in 2024, the landscape is very different.

The company has had a TV-PG stance since the late 2000s, but according to SEScoops.com, a memo has had to be sent to WWE talent reminding them of the guidelines following a former Attitude Era star's language on last week's SmackDown.

The Rock appeared on last Friday's show and dropped some fruity words aimed at the Memphis crowd and his WrestleMania opponents Cody Rhodes and Seth 'Freakin' Rollins. Following the reported guidelines, the Hollywood A-lister took to social media to respond and offer an explanation to his language.

“You sound like somebody the Rock can love - drunk and horny,” The Rock posted.

"Networks and “standards & practices” have issues with my language, but I’d rather be real than not. I talk from the heart, shoot from the hip and try to always have fun. Enjoy the Rock concert ~ Final Boss."
