It's one of WWE's most popular weeks in the calendar as the countdown begins to this weekend's annual Royal Rumble.
30 men and 30 women will step into the ring in two separate Royal Rumble matches, and each will try to outlast 29 others to book their place in the main event of WrestleMania 40.
Here's a look at the top three front-runners for each match ahead of Saturday night's massive event in Florida.
Men's
Cody Rhodes
No Superstar has won back-to-back Royal Rumbles since Stone Cold Steve Austin in the late 90s, but for Rhodes to 'finish his story,' he needs to find a way to get to the main event of WrestleMania. Making history by winning two consecutive rumble matches would guarantee him another shot at the all-conquering Roman Reigns on the grandest stage of them all in April.
CM Punk
Punk shocked the world by returning to WWE in November; now he has his sights set on finally headlining WrestleMania - something he failed to do during his first run with the company. If he does manage to win his first Rumble match, then it's a safe bet that we're headed for Punk vs Seth Rollins (as long as his injury isn't as severe as first feared) to headline night one in Philidelphia this Spring.
The Rock
The spanner in the works when it comes to WrestleMania after the People's Champ returned on New Year's Day and hinted at a long-awaited showdown with Roman Reigns in Philly. It leaves the main event plan muddled when you throw in Cody Rhodes as well, but if we are to get to Rock v Roman, then what better way than a surprise entrant and winner in the rumble match? Tampa would go wild for that.
Women's
Bayley
The only thing missing from Bayley's WWE CV is a Royal Rumble win and it feels like 2024 is the clear path to pull the trigger on it. It feels like a Damager CRTL spilt of some variety is in the making, and what better way to get there than having the group turn on Bayley after she wins the Rumble and for the 'Role Model' to go after Iyo Sky's World Championship at WrestleMania.
Becky Lynch
The biggest women's match WWE can book right now is Becky Lynch vs. Rhea Ripley, which is primed for a WrestleMania spot. The pair have already teased a potential clash, and if Becky becomes the first woman to win two Rumble matches, then it's a certainty that we see Mami vs The Man as the marquee women's bout for WrestleMania.
Jade Cargill
If WWE decides to go left field and wants to provide a shock factor for the women's Rumble match, then look no further than Cargill. We haven't seen Jade on WWE TV since the back end of last year, despite WWE making a major fuss upon signing her. Could it be that have left off programming in the build to her making a major impact at the Royal Rumble and walking away with a title shot for WrestleMania.
