The Green Bay Packers faced plenty of questions over how they would fare in the post-Aaron Rodgers era - but so far this term, they might have enough to form a positive answer.

Jordan Love, the first-round pick effectively honed as the superstar's successor, appears to be on the way to filling those cleats with aplomb as he enjoys a purple patch in form.

With supporters in Wisconsin hopeful they can storm into the postseason in fine form, DAZN takes a look at the 26-year-old's career and speculates what might come next for him.

What was Love's collegiate career?

A standout performer at high school level, the Bakersfield-born Love was always a football fan from an early age, and his talents suggested to scouts that he had a future too.

He headed to college with Utah State University, and only had to clear his freshman year before he became their starting quarterback, highlighting his particular drive and tenacity.

His 2018 term marked a high point, throwing for 32 touchdowns and an 11-2 record, plus selection to the Second-team All-MWC and the 2018 New Mexico Bowl MVP award.

What was Love's early NFL career like?

Love's name became a household one before he had even stepped onto an NFL field when the Packers drafted him in the first round and 26th overall in the 2020 NFL Draft.

With Rodgers still at the helm of the team then, it placed immediate pressure on Love as the likely heir apparent, and he spent the following three years as an understudy.

When the former moved to the New York Jets in 2023, he took his place and guided them to a 9-8 record and wild card spot in the playoffs, ultimately exiting in week two.

What are Love's strengths right now?

That first taste of postseason football in earnest proved that the Packers had been right on their hunch about Love, and a flawless game to topple the Dallas Cowboys proved it.

Since the start of 2024, he has moved to a 63.4% completion percentage on his passes, while impressive wins over the San Francisco 49ers and Miami Dolphins have helped too.

But having thrown two key interceptions earlier this year in their playoff exit to the 49ers, he still knows he needs to keep his cool in order to deliver on the biggest stages.

What is next for Love?

With the Packers still tranistioning fully away from the Rodgers era, Love remains a relatively green choice, having only turned 26 in November, but there is plenty to praise.

If the franchise indeed elect to build around him as a cornerstone, he has shown enough promise to suggest further growth and maturity will come with more games to boot.

As for this term, they remain firmly in the hunt for postseason football - but they will have to ensure they stay on the straight and narrow across these final few games to do so.
