C.J. Stroud is quickly becoming a must-watch quarterback in the NFL, and on Sunday he got his first win over one of the league's elite pivots.
Stroud led the Houston Texans to a 30-27 victory over the Cincinnati Bengals, with the rookie outgunning 2022 Pro Bowl selection Joe Burrow in the process.
Burrow is considered one of the elite QBs in the NFL, but Sunday belonged to Stroud. The 22-year-old racked up 356 passing yards with a touchdown and interception, as well as a rushing TD.
By comparison, Burrow threw for 347 yards and two touchdowns, but with two crucial INTs. While Burrow did connect on a highlight-reel touchdown by Ja'Marr Chase late in the third quarter, Stroud and the Texans got the last laugh as they moved to 5-4 on the season while pulling the Bengals down to the same record.
Stroud even got to hit the "O-H" celebration in Cincinnati, only a few hours away from where Stroud starred for Ohio State in 2021 and 2022.
