For the first time in a long time, there is excitement surrounding the New York Jets ahead of a new season.
This all started with arrival of future hall of fame quarterback Aaron Rodgers who joined the franchise from the Green Bay Packers, but this was the not the end of the Jets bringing exciting names to their offense.
Now the Jets running back room has been given a welcome boost with Dalvin Cook joining the team on a one-year contract earlier this month.
With the likes of Rodgers and Cook amongst the offense, the Jets will now be considered a contender for a deep playoff run and potentially winning the Super Bowl, and when asked about this possibility, Cook was confident it can happen.
"I think it's very realistic," Cook told the New York Post when asked about the team's Super Bowl chances.
"Obviously you look at the roster, you look at the people we've added and the things that we already had, just combining that in one, and I think it's something to be excited about. We just gotta go out there and do our part."
Cook then went onto explain that the prospect of winning the Super Bowl with the Jets was a key reason when it came to making the move to New Jersey following his release from the Minnesota Vikings.
"That's why I came, that's why I'm here, to help any way I can to get to where we need to go, and that's holding up the trophy, and that's what we're trying to do," Cook stated.
The Jets have only featured in one Super Bowl and that came at Super Bowl 3 in 1969 when they beat the Baltimore Colts 16-7.
