The veteran running back has swapped the Tennessee Titans for the Baltimore Ravens

Derrick Henry has been one of the most high-profile free agents on the move this week, as he called time on his nine-year spell with the Tennessee Titans and signed for the Baltimore Ravens.

Having just turned 30 and with more than 2,000 rushing attempts to his name, the four-time Pro Bowler’s ability to continue to be a difference-maker has been questioned in certain quarters.

The conventional wisdom is that running backs will slow down once they enter their fourth decade, but the Ravens have given the 2015 Heisman Trophy winner a show of faith with a two-year, $16million deal.

And the man himself has a message to all of the doubters.

“Tell them to keep watching," Henry said in an introductory press conference, as per ESPN. “People always going to have something to say — always going to have opinions.

“I’m just ready to work, ready to get things started and do my best to help this organization.”

Henry was joined by Ravens general manager Eric DeCosta, who was quick to back his new player.

"He's kind of a unicorn, to be honest," he said. "It's a combination of speed, power, durability.

"Those kind of guys are rare. We've had some here in Baltimore. They're just different from everybody else, and I think Derrick's a good example of that."
