The Detroit Lions have added another wide receiver to their depth chart in the form of Denzel Mims.

Mims' struggled for snaps with the New York Jets, who have traded him to the Lions with a 2025 seventh-round pick for a conditional 2025 sixth-round pick.

The Jets drafted Mims in the second round of the 2020 NFL Draft and he made 23 receptions for 357 yards in his rookie season.

However since the arrival of Robert Saleh, it has been clear that Mims' days with the Jets were numbered so this trade comes as no surprise.

Mims is still just 25-years-old and has shown glimpses of his potential which could make him a useful weapon for an NFL franchise.

The Baylor product averaged over 15 yards per reception with the Jets and can be a downfield threat, but he will have to seriously improve on his catch percentage which is under 50%.

Mims joins what was already a crowded wide receiver room, with Amon Ra St. Brown and Jameson Williams at the top of the depth chart.

Williams is suspended to start the season, so Mims will be competing with Marvin Jones Jr., Kalif Raymond and Josh Reynolds for snaps at wide receiver.
