Sunday’s NFC Championship game throws up an intriguing clash between two familiar foes.
The Philadelphia Eagles are looking to reach their second Super Bowl in three years and will play host to their NFC East rivals the Washington Commanders who have not been to the big game since January 1992.
The two teams split their regular season encounters in a pair of hard-fought clashes, but who will be the difference makers at Lincoln Financial Field on Sunday night? DAZN News looks at the key players for each side.
Jalen Hurts (Philadelphia)

The injury status of Jalen Hurts is quite possibly the biggest x-factor ahead of Sunday’s game.
The Eagles QB suffered a knee injury during the Division Round win over the Rams, and while he remained in the game, he was clearly hampered by the issue which affected his mobility.
All signs point to Hurts playing on Sunday, but if the knee issue lingers on and he continues to hobble, it will be an issue for the Eagles rushing attack and take away a key dimension in the home side’s offense.
Saquon Barkley (Philadelphia)
If Hurts’ threat as a runner is taken away, at least the Eagles have Saquon Barkley to call upon.
The former Giant topped a barnstorming regular season with a huge display last weekend, topping 200 yards, including the 78-yard scamper that sealed the win over Rams.
If Barkley finds his groove, Washington’s job gets a whole lot harder.
Bobby Wagner (Washington)
Washington linebacker Bobby Wagner will turn 35 in the offseason, but is enjoying his best season for years as the leader of a Commanders defense that has tended to bend but not break at times this season.
The Super Bowl XLVIII winner’s experience has been vital for this unit and he is the kind of player that will relish this kind of battle and ensure that Barkley is contained and does not break past the second level of the defense.
Jayden Daniels (Washington)

So much has been said and written about Daniels’ superlative rookie season and after seeing him throw five touchdowns in the Commanders’ Week 16 victory over the Eagles, Sunday’s hosts will know that they must stop Daniels if they are to earn a place in Super Bowl LIX.
The former LSU man has taken his brilliant regular season form into the playoffs, passing for 567 yards, with four touchdowns and no interceptions in his two playoff wins to leave him on the verge of becoming the first rookie QB to lead his side to a Super Bowl.
Jalen Carter (Philadelphia)
The second-year Eagles defensive tackle has emerged as his unit’s leader this season and the focal point of Vic Fangio’s top-ranked defense.
He has the ability to pounce on any mistakes from the Washington offensive line and can nullify the threat of Daniels’ key weapons and make the Commanders’ attack somewhat one-dimensional and over-reliant on the improvisational nature of their rookie QB.
Should they go all the way, the Eagles defensive front would be the youngest unit to win a Super Bowl and Carter is a key part of their success so far.
