The latest batch of aspiring NFL quarterbacks will get their chance to impress at the NFL Scouting Combine next week.

The week-long event starts on Monday, 26 February, and teams get the chance to have a close look at the players they could be drafting in April.

Several teams are in the market for a new quarterback, so DAZN takes a look at five to watch out for this coming week in Indianapolis.

Caleb Williams

The 2022 Heisman Trophy winner Caleb Williams will have the spotlight placed firmly on him at the NFL Scouting Combine.

The 22-year-old out of Oklahoma has long been expected to be the first overall pick in the 2024 NFL Draft, with the Chicago Bears a likely landing spot.

Williams pairs incredible arm-strength and accuracy with lightning acceleration on the ground, both of which he will be keen to display at the NFL Combine.

Drake Maye

Drake Maye is another quarterback expected to go in the top five picks of the 2024 NFL Draft.

The 21-year-old had a relatively disappointing 2023 season after an incredible 2022 campaign which saw him throw 38 touchdowns and just seven interceptions.

Like Williams, Maye has rushing upside at the position too, and added 16 more touchdowns on the ground across his two seasons at North Carolina.

Jayden Daniels

The 2023 Heisman Trophy winner Jayden Daniels had a season to remember for LSU, throwing for 3,812 yards and 40 touchdowns and rushing for 1,134 yards and 10 touchdowns.

At 23 years old, Daniels is a little older than Maye and Williams, but still young enough for teams to consider choosing him as their future franchise quarterback.

Like Maye and Williams, Daniels is expected to be taken in the top five picks of the 2024 NFL Draft, with the New England Patriots and Washington Commanders two potential landing spots for the dual-threat quarterback.

J.J. McCarthy

J.J. McCarthy did not put up the same numbers in college as some of the other quarterbacks in this class, as his Michigan team focused on a strong run game and exceptional defense.

That being said, the 21-year-old did everything that was asked of him by now-LA Chargers head coach Jim Harbaugh, as he led Michigan to success in the National Championship last season to finish the year 15-0.

McCarthy is not the finished product, and is not guaranteed to have the draft capital which ensures he is a starter in 2024, but on the right team he has the skill-set to succeed in the NFL.

Bo Nix

After three disappointing seasons at Auburn, Bo Nix moved to Oregon in 2022 and has not looked back.

Nix has a 22-5 record across the last two seasons, and had the best campaign of his college career in 2023 where he threw for 4,508 yards and 45 touchdowns, and just 3 interceptions.

Nix turned 24 the day before the NFL Scouting Combine, and as an older prospect he will need a good performance at the Combine to improve his chances of first-round selection.
