Gang Green has plenty to be excited about.

Thursday Night Football had Aaron Rodgers returning to the MetLife Stadium field in East Rutherford, New Jersey for the first time since suffering a season-ending torn achilles tendon last year.

And to the thrill of Gang Green's fans, the four-time NFL MVP led the Jets to a 24-3 home blasting of their rival New England Patriots to improve to 2-1.

Here are five takeaways from the game:

The superstar quarterback completed 27-of-35 passes for 281 yards and two touchdowns in the Jets' home opener, giving their fans a taste at just how special this season can be with him healthy in the pocket.

And along those lines, Rodgers got excellent pass protection from his offensive line — a very encouraging sign for the team moving forward.

Rodgers to Garrett Wilson is a problem for any defense

Rodgers targeted wideout Garrett Wilson nine times, linking up toward five catches for 33 yards and a touchdown. The numbers aren't groundbreaking, though Rodgers and Wilson gave the league, especially the AFC East, a glimpse at how much of a headache they can be for any defense.

During a third-quarter sequence, Rodgers found Wilson on the left side of the field for a gain of eight yards. The very next play, Rodgers delivered a quick strike to Wilson on the right side of the field for a two-yard touchdown pass.

Rodgers has plenty of weapons

The dominating night had Rodgers spreading the wealth to eight different receivers including Tyler Conklin leading the way with five receptions for 93 yards. In addition to Wilson and Allen Lazard as wideouts, Rodgers also has running backs Braelon Allen and Breece Hall at his disposal, paving the way for what could very well be a high-powered offense from the Jets this season.

Chuck Clark can be a disruptive force

The Jets' safety caused havoc for the Patriots' offense, disrupting it for a sack, forced fumble and recovery. Dominant play from the 29-year-old.

Drake Maye got his first taste of NFL action

Things were going so badly for the Patriots that they put rookie quarterback Drake Maye in the game for his first taste of official NFL action.

The third overall pick in the NFL Draft complete 4-of-8 passes for 22 yards and was also sacked twice.

Now the question is: will the rookie get his first career start soon?
