Former NFL offensive tackle Taylor Lewan says the San Francisco 49ers are "the best team in the NFL, and it's not close."
The 49ers underlined their Super Bowl credentials in Week 13 with a huge road win against the Philadelphia Eagles, beating the NFC East franchise 42-19.
It is a win which has seen the 49ers rise to the top of many pundits' current rankings, as last season's NFC Championship loser look to go one step further this campaign.
Speaking on the Up & Adams Show, former Titan OT Lewan also had praise for one member of the 49ers offense.
"I know what I've said before but Brock Purdy is that guy, he really is that dude" said Lewan.
"They are the best team in the NFL and after what we saw yesterday [against the Eagles] it's not close, if they stay healthy they're the team."
Lewan and host Kay Adams discussed Purdy's chances of being named MVP, as 2022's 'Mr Irrelevant' continues to impress.
"Brock has the aliens around him and if they are able to play that well on defence he will probably win MVP," said Lewan.
"The MVP should always go to the quarterback, but you need the wins, the coaches and players around you.
"Brock has that, and he is definitely a guy that could be the MVP."
