Former NFL player Taylor Lewan thinks that the balance of power in the NFC South has changed.
The NFC South saw a big-name quarterback join the division when Kirk Cousins agreed to join the Atlanta Falcons.
Cousins agreed to a four-year $180 million contract with Raheem Morris' Falcons.
Lewan offered his analysis on the Up & Adams Show, saying, "At first, I wish Arthur Smith was still there. He would have reaped the benefits of having Kirk there on that offense.
"But Kirk is one of the underrated players. He has been excellent in the regular season. Atlanta has Bijan Robinson; Kyle Pitts will have a big year with Kirk."
Asked if the Falcons are now the team to beat, Lewan said, "I love Baker Mayfield, but I think the Atlanta Falcons are the team to beat in the NFC South."
In addition to signing Cousins, the Falcons have agreed terms with wide receiver Darnell Mooney. Mooney will join on a three-year deal worth $39 million, with $26 million guaranteed.
