The NFL has a new single-game record for yards thrown by a rookie quarterback.
Houston Texans rookie C.J. Stroud demolished the previous mark during a thrilling 39-37 comeback victory against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers on Sunday, in which the 22-year-old threw for 470 yards and five touchdown passes (and zero interceptions).
The previous record was held by former Indianapolis Colts QB Andrew Luck, who racked up 433 passing yards during a game in his 2012 debut season.
While the record was certainly noteworthy on its own, it's the way Stroud took control of the game that could have fans talking for years to come. With Houston down by six points and just 46 seconds to go, the former Ohio State star led a 75-yard drive that culminated in a 15-yard pass to Nathaniel 'Tank' Dell for the winning score.
The entire drive took just 40 seconds to complete.
If Stroud's clutch leadership is a sign of things to come, then we could be seeing a star in the making in Houston.
