Houston Texans head coach DeMaco Ryans was very impressed by the performance of wide receiver Tank Dell in his team's preseason opener against the New England Patriots.
The Texans won the game 20-9, but it was Dell's touchdown catch which stole the headlines.
With the second quarter coming to a close and the Texans situated on New England's seven yard line, Dell spun away from his defender in the endzone before receiving a Davis Mills pass. While Dell did manage to get his hands on the ball, he was struggling to keep control and then preceded to fall onto his back.
In an attempt to control the ball, Dell pinned the ball to his calf using his right hand before completing the pass with both hands ahead of his legs going out of bounds.
The play then went to be reviewed and the touchdown catch was confirmed.
The catch has already been shared by fans across the world, and if Dell is able to produce grabs such as this in preseason, he is likely to be a key component in the Texans offence come opening weekend and Ryans is excited for what the future holds for the 23-year-old.
"It was good to see Tank make some plays," Ryans said after the game.
"We've seen him make a lot of plays throughout training camp, some of these same plays, so it was good to see him do the same thing here in a game. So, he can be an explosive playmaker for us, and we look forward to him continuing to make some of those plays."
