Two-time Super Bowl winner Chris Long has praised the Houston Texans for their offseason moves.
The Texans were one of last season's surprise packages. They finished 10-7, won the AFC South, and won a playoff game. Rookie head coach DeMeco Ryans extracted the maximum from his young Texans side, and pundits expect them to take another step forward in 2024.
Houston has made aggressive signings in free agency, and Long likes the moves.
"The Houston Texans have crushed the offseason," Long told the Green Light podcast. "They've upgraded everywhere. Joe Mixon is an excellent running back. Danielle Hunter is a bonafide blue chipper. They signed Denico Autry, who is one of my favourite players.
"Houston got faster and athletic all over the field."
Furthermore, Long thinks Houston can challenge the established AFC contenders, "When you look at the AFC and look for teams that can challenge Kansas City, the Texans are favourites in my mind to fight Kansas City.
"Houston will draft a wide receiver. That offense is one legitimate weapon away from becoming a top unit."
