Sunday marks the first game of the 2023 season for most teams in the NFL, and that means that several rookies are making their league debuts on the busiest day of Week 1.
Among them are a trio of first-round picks who all found the end zone in their maiden game, led by Indianapolis Colts quarterback Anthony Richardson.
Here are some of the rookies who scored a touchdown in their first NFL game during Sunday's early window of games.
Anthony Richardson, Indianapolis Colts
A lot is expected of Richardson, the former Florida quarterback who started his first NFL game under centre on Sunday. The 21-year-old wasted little time making an impact at the professional level, calling his own number and running the ball in for the Colts in the second quarter against the Jacksonville Jaguars.
Richardson, picked fourth overall in the 2023 draft, added his first TD pass later in the game.
Jordan Addison, Minnesota Vikings
The 23rd pick in the 2023 draft, Addison caught a 39-yard pass in the second quarter for his first NFL TD.
Bijan Robinson, Atlanta Falcons
Robinson was selected eighth overall in the 2023 draft, and he showed why seconds into the second quarter of his first NFL game with the Falcons.
Catching a short pass from Desmond Ridder at the Carolina Panthers' 9-yard line, Robinson had a lot to do to get to the end zone. The rookie deftly side-stepped the first defender before brushing off a tackle from another and rumbling past the goal line to open the scoring at Mercedes-Benz Stadium.
