Kansas City Chiefs vs. Buffalo Bills: Head-to-head record, results and moreDAZN

The Kansas City Chiefs and the Buffalo Bills are one step away from Super Bowl LIX as they reach the penultimate round of their 2025 NFL Playoffs journey on Sunday.

The pair will meet in the American Football Conference Championship Game, to determine just which team will go all the way to New Orleans, live with NFL Game Pass on DAZN.

Chasing a "three-peat" of success stories, the Chiefs still secured top spot in the seedings despite something of a lacklustre campaign by their usual high standards this term.

In what will be their seventh straight appearance however, they must face a rematch from four years ago, in 2021, as the Bills return to the big division dance-off too.

More importantly, it is three years since 13 Seconds, the legendary Divisional Round game that the pair played out, with the Chiefs securing a famous 42-36 victory.

But just how do these two teams stack up against each other, and what does their current form tell us about this matchup as they chase a spot at Caesars Superdome?

Here's everything you need to know about the head-to-head record between the Chiefs and the Bills.

Though not as storied as plenty of the other rivalries across the NFL, there's more than enough history between the Chiefs and the Bills to make this a modern classic match-up.

The two have met on multiple occasions stretching back to 1960, when Kansas City were known as the Dallas Texans, and they proceeded to meet regularly through 1969.

It was not until the past decade that the pair began to meet with frequency in the postseason however, having played three postseason encounters since 2021 alone.

That has coincided with the Chiefs emerging as the NFL's dominant force, with many musing different conference placements could have pitted them as Super Bowl foes.

The former proved too strong in 2021's AFC Championship Game, running out 38-24 victors on their way to eventual defeat at Super Bowl LV.

Since then, there has been 13 Seconds, the pair's controversial overtime encounter a year later in the divisional round, still widely considered an all-time great encounter.

Then, the Chiefs sank the Bills at the same stage once again last year, with a narrow 27-24 victory in regulation keeping them on course for success at Super Bowl LVIII.

This year, the story has appeared to be more of the same on the surface, with the Chiefs posting a 15-2 record and the Bills pushing on to a 13-4 regular season performance.

But dig a little deeper, and there isn't too much to split the pair. In fact, it is the Bills who have generally been the more attractive and entertaining proposition to watch play.

With 385 points for and 326 against, Kansas City spent much of the term scraping narrow wins together, even if their consistency speaks at least to their confidence too.

Buffalo meanwhile scored 525 points and conceded 368, turning in more touchdowns as they made their way to the second seed spot in the division behind their rivals.

Most importantly, the pair met this term in the regular season too, in a Week 11 game at Highmark Stadium, where the Chiefs arrived as the lone undefeated team left.

In a close-fought encounter, the Bills led at the end of every quarter and inflicted a first loss of the campaign on them with a 30-21 triumph to prove they can do the business.

Josh Allen and company will call upon that memory this weekend - as will Patrick Mahomes, as he bids to keep his team's Super Bowl dream firmly on track to succeed.
