The Derek Carr era at Las Vegas Raiders has come to an end, and in his place joins former San Francisco 49ers quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo.

Garoppolo still has lingering injury concerns having had foot surgery in the offseason, however he and head coach Josh McDaniels remain confident the two-time Super Bowl champion still start come week one.

The Raiders finished third in the AFC West last season, winning just six games, despite being dark horses to make the post-season.

This season there is less optimism surrounding the franchise, however changes in key positions could yet prove a gamble which pays off.

Carr and tight end Darren Waller have departed, but in come Garoppolo, wide receiver Jakobi Meyers and rookie tight end Michael Mayer. Perhaps most crucially, the Raiders still have star receiver Davonte Adams and they managed to keep hold of Josh Jacobs, whose 1,653 rushing yards topped the NFL charts in 2022.

With the formidable Kansas City Chiefs, entertaining Los Angeles Chargers and hurting Denver Broncos alongsided the Raiders in the AFC West, it could prove another challenging season for the Vegas outfit.

Here's everything you need to know ahead of Las Vegas Raiders' 2023 season.
