The Las Vegas Raiders are signing former Dallas Cowboys wide receiver Michael Gallup as the 28-year-old looks to bounce back from a disappointing 2023 campaign.
Gallup saw his six-year stay in Dallas come to an end last season after he registered career lows of 418 receiving yards and just two touchdown catches.
The Cowboys released the former third-round draft pick shortly before the beginning of free agency and after six weeks on the open market, Gallup has a new home in Vegas.
The AFC West side have snapped up the receiver on a one-year deal worth up to $3million, as per the NFL Network.
The Raiders will be hoping that Gallup can rediscover the kind of form that saw him grab 66 passes for 1,107 yards and six scores in 2019, form which saw the Cowboys hand him a $62.5million five-year contract extension in 2022.
An ACL tear curtailed his 2021 season and he failed to hit those heights again before the team opted to release him this offseason.
The Raiders did add one pass-catching threat during last week’s NFL Draft when they selected tight end Brock Bowers with their 13th overall selection, but Gallup will join a wide receiver room that contains Davante Adams, Jakobi Meyers and Tre Tucker.
Gardner Minshew and Aidan O’Connell are set to battle it out for the starting quarterback role in Vegas with the Raiders opting not to draft a QB after seeing six passers go off the board before they were on the clock with the 13th pick.
