Is Marvin Harrison Jr participating at the NFL Scouting Combine?

Wide receiver Marvin Harrison Jr will skip all of the NFL Scouting Combine's physical tests.

The NFL Scouting Combine takes place in Indianapolis this week. Players will participate in on-field drills, physical tests, mental tests and interviews. It is a vital part of the evaluation process for many NFL teams.

However, Ohio State's Marvin Harrison Jr has chosen to skip the on-field drills, physical tests and mental tests. Harrison Jr will attend the combine and hold formal interviews with teams.

Moreover, Harrison Jr will not partake in Ohio State's pro day. Recently, top prospects have opted to participate in pro days rather than the combine. Prospects often prefer going through the drills with their respective coaches and teammates.

Harrison Jr will skip this as well. Instead, he will train with Ohio State's strength and conditioning team in preparation for the 2024-25 NFL season.

It is a risky decision for the 21-year-old. Scouting departments within the NFL may lament the lack of up-close information. But Harrison Jr is the best wide receiver in the draft. He is a two-time unanimous All-American selection and has shown enough talent in games.

Many experts regard Harrison Jr as the best wide receiver prospect since Calvin Johnson. Harrison Jr can afford to do things differently.
