After a third-place finish in the NFC South last season, the New Orleans Saints will be challenging for top spot in 2023 in what is a weak division.
The Buccaneers topped the NFC South in 2022 with an 8-9 record, while the Saints, Carolina Panthers and Atlanta Falcons all finished 7-8.
In 2023 however, the Saints project has a key piece they did not have last season in new quarterback Derek Carr.
Coming over from the Las Vegas Raiders, Carr ends the quarterback uncertainty the Saints were facing last season, and in sophomore Chris Olave he has an emerging star to target.
There are some who believe Michael Thomas still has the talent he displayed in his record breaking 2019 regular season where he caught 149 catches for 1,725 yards and nine touchdowns.
On the downside there is a potential upcoming suspension for starting running back Alvin Kamara, but offseason signing Jamaal Williams and rookie Kendre Miller should keep Saints competitive in such a circumstance.
Here's everything you need to know ahead of the New Orleans Saints' 2023 season.
