The New York Giants' rotten luck with injuries continued in Week 9 as starting quarterback Daniel Jones injured his knee on his return from a neck injury.
The 26-year-old missed three straight weeks with a neck injury before returning for 'Big Blue' on Sunday against the Las Vegas Raiders.
In his absense, back-up quarterback Tyrod Taylor suffered a rib injury and has been placed on injured reserve, ruling him out for a minimum of four games.
Jones' latest injury is feared to be significant, per NFL Network's Ian Rapoport, and if the veteran quarterback has damaged his ACL as expected it would likely rule him out for rest of the 2023 season.
With Jones facing a lengthy recovery time and Taylor on IR, the Giants will have to rely on rookie quarterback Tommy DeVito to lead their offense.
The 25-year-old completed 15 of 20 passes in Week 9 after taking over from Jones, throwing one touchdown and two interceptions while also being sacked on six occasions.
Speaking after their loss to the Raiders, Giants head coach Brian Daboll said: "They gave him X-rays, there was nothing wrong on them so we will get more tests done.
"You never want your guys to go down, Daniel had fought really hard to get back and it is unfortunate.
"He felt like he buckled, then he was running it off. We talked to him and he said, 'I'm good', so he went back in but obviously he wasn't.
"We have to get the next guy ready, [Tommy] DeVito and [Matt] Barkley. We have to gets those guys ready to play."
