The New York Giants and New York Jets have called MetLife Stadium home for over a decade.
It's the second stadium the two NFL teams have shared in the same spot in East Rutherford, N.J. — from 1976 to 2010, Giants Stadium stood just a few yards from where MetLife Stadium is now located.
Serving as the home of the league's two New York franchises, the stadium has quickly become an iconic part of the Tri-State area.
Here's how much the venue holds and how much it cost to build.
What is MetLife Stadium's capacity?
As with nearly every other major sporting venue in the world, MetLife hosts a variety of events. As such, it has many different seating capacities.
It is, first and foremost, an NFL stadium, and according to the venue's website it holds 82,500 for football. There has been an NFL game that pulled in a higher number than the stated capacity: Super Bowl XLVIII had 82,529 in attendance.
MetLife Stadium's overall attendance record is 93,000, set in 2012 by a non-NFL event.
How much did MetLife Stadium cost to build?
Designed by a consortium that includes 360 Architects, Ewing Cole, David Rockwell and Bruce Mau Designs, MetLife Stadium is 2.1 million square feet and cost $1.6 billion to build
