When is Conference Championship Sunday

Round two of the NFL Playoffs is over! The Divisional Round provided ample drama and action. The field of eight teams is now down to four, and a trip to Super Bowl 58 is getting closer.

Teams are now just one win away from playing in the Super Bowl and competing for the Vince Lombardi Trophy.

Here is DAZN's breakdown of everything you need to know ahead of Conference Championship Sunday.

What is Conference Championship Sunday?

Two conferences of 16 teams make up the NFL. These conferences are called the AFC and NFC.

The two conferences each have seven playoff teams. After two rounds of playoff football, each conference has just two teams left. Those teams will play this Sunday for the conference championship. The winners will play in the Super Bowl.

This stage is effectively the semi-final stage of the NFL Playoffs.

Like the previous rounds, the highest seeds remaining will play at home.

Both games take place on the same day. This year, the AFC Championship is the first game, while the NFC Championship will occur on Sunday night.

When is Conference Championship Sunday?

All four teams will play on Sunday, January 28.

What is the Conference Championship Sunday schedule?

Sunday, January 21

  • AFC Championship game: (3) Kansas City Chiefs vs. (1) Baltimore Ravens - 3:00 p.m. ET / 8:00 p.m. UK / 9:00 p.m. CET
  • NFC Championship game: (3) Detroit Lions vs. (1) San Francisco 49ers - 6:30 p.m. ET / 11:30 p.m. UK / 12:30 a.m. CET (Monday)

Which teams are playing on Conference Championship Sunday?

Following two emotional home wins, the Detroit Lions will travel to San Francisco on Sunday. The 49ers outlasted the Green Bay Packers last Saturday. Both teams will play for the NFC Championship.

The Baltimore Ravens swatted aside the Houston Texans on Saturday afternoon. The Ravens will host the Kansas City Chiefs as the number-one seed.

Kansas City won in Buffalo on Sunday night. It was their first road playoff win in the Patrick Mahomes era. These sides will play for the AFC Championship.
