The NFL has announced their 2024 season kickoff game - and it’s a mouthwatering match-up.
The new season will begin on Thursday, September 5 and as recent tradition dictates, the reigning Super Bowl champions will host the first game of the new campaign.
That means Patrick Mahomes and the Kansas City Chiefs will have the chance to show the Vince Lombardi trophy that they won in February off to their home fans ahead of what could be one of their toughest matches of the season.
Their opponents that evening will be the Baltimore Ravens, in what will be a rematch of last season’s AFC Championship Game.
The Chiefs saw off Lamar Jackson and company 17-10 in Baltimore back in January as two of the NFL’s best quarterbacks went head-to-head.
Both sides have restocked this offseason, with the Ravens adding running back Derrick Henry to their team, while the Chiefs added wide receiver Xavier Worthy in the first round of last month’s NFL Draft.
The action will then move to South America on Friday, September 6 when the Philadelphia Eagles take on the Green Bay Packers in Sao Paulo for the first game Brazil has ever hosted.
The rest of the NFL schedule will be unveiled on Wednesday, May 15 at 8pm ET (1am BST).
